Cowrie shells

Cowrie shells were once used by many cultures as currency, representing wealth and prosperity, as well as a symbol of fertility and protection from ocean gods and orishas. Today they are still used as divination tools in Brazilian (jogar os búzios) and African (Ẹẹ́rìndínlógún) traditions, or to adorn the home or body.
